Part A: Plan of action: Specific targets: 

Academic 

•         Suggestions for various cells and sub-committees for greater initiatives in co-curricular, extra curricular and extension activities.

•         Taking steps to organise the remedial classes for SC/ ST/ OBC and Minority students and funds may be sought from UGC and other agencies in this regard

•         Encouraging the teachers for continuing academic activities e.g. M Phil and PhD, and undertaking Minor and Major Research Projects.

•         Introduction of some vocational and add on courses.

•         Extension of library reading room

•         Introduction of more new courses under open and distance learning

•         Encouraging the departments to organise national and state level seminars.

•         Faculty members be encouraged to participate and present research papers in National/International seminar/ conferences  

Infrastructure 

•         Operationalising computer aided functions of the Library and providing internet facilities to the students.

•         Construction of a new Girls’ common room.

•         Early installation of the Computer lab under DST-FIST scheme.

•         Upgradation of the science laboratories with grants received from DST-FIST.

•         Construction of new Gymnasium Hall, New Science building, Basketball and Volleyball court, Cycle and Bike stand and Car parking.

•         Improvement and shifting the Health Care centre.

•         Provision of uninterrupted power supply to the college.

•        Development of the playground

•        Completion of the administrative building and the auditorium.

•        Improvement of the roads within the campus

•        Improving the condition of the existing Boys’ hostel and construction of a new Boys’ hostel.  

Administrative 

•        Operationalising the automation of college administration and LAN.

•         Taking steps for early regularizing the services of the teachers working against non-sanctioned posts who were allotted sanctioned posts on conversion.

•         Registration of the Alumni Association and organizing an Alumni meet.

•         Organising more remedial classes for SC/ ST/ OBC and Minority students and funds may be sought from UGC and other agencies in this regard.

•         Acceleration of works of procurement of government concurrence and university affiliation for the subjects wanting the same.

•         Generation of funds for completion of the auditorium and the administrative building.

•         Seeking funds from UGC for construction of Girls’ Hostel, New Science Building etc. 

Achievements 

·          Some teachers were awarded M Phil and PhD degree during the session.

·          The college received grants from UGC for starting an add-on course on Tourism and Hospitality Management.

·          The Governing Body decided to extend the library reading room.

·          Computerisation of library with SOUL software restarted

·          The IGNOU partner institute of the college started some new courses like BSW, PG diploma in Disaster management and P G Diploma in Environment and Sustainable Development, Diploma in Tourism Studies etc.

·          Some faculty members participated and presented research papers in national seminars.

·          The Governing Body decided to construct a new Girls’ Common Room.

·          Works on installation of computer lab and improvement of science laboratories under DST-FIST grant started.

·          Partial operationalsing of the college automation and LAN.

·          Proposals sent to Director Higher Education for according approval to the teachers allotted converted sanctioned posts.

1.       Highlights: activities specially upholding goals and objectives of institution: 

•        Seats reserved for SC, ST, OBC and MOBC students as per State Govt. norms.

•         Seminar and Group discussion are included in the main routine of the college.

•        Seats reserved in sports quotas at UG level.

•        NCC cadets sent for training in the National Integration camp.

•         The activities during the college week reflect the co curricular and extra curricular activities of the students like games and sports, music, art, literature and cultural activities

•         The college received grants from UGC for starting an add-on course on Tourism and Hospitality   Management

·    DST(FIST) grant received by Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Botany, Zoology and Geography depts

·    DBT Star College Scheme awarded to the College and a initial grant of Rs. 28 lakh received by the college.

·          NCC organised a programme on Road Safety and Traffic Control

·          Assam Science Society, Goalpara branch organised several programmes of community development such as World Environment Day, National Science Day, National Environment Awareness Programme (NEAP), AIDS awareness etc at different parts of the district

•         Financial aid and relief materials were provided by the teachers to flash flood victims of Balbala in Oct   2004
